Security beyond the front door

Front Door Lock

We often compare IT security to home security because that helps us to simplify things a bit. Just like home security, we recommend that you get the best security that you can afford. In a home you may put good locks on the doors, add an alarm system, and add security cameras. If you can do more than just lock the front door, it seems like a good idea. The same concepts apply to IT security. You should have a business class firewall, and anti-virus. Do lock the “front door,” but if possible, it is better to do more.

Hackers are often successful because they bypass the front door. They exploit an unpatched OS, staff carelessness with email attachments or other vulnerabilities and they are inside your “house.” That is where Huntress EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) comes in. Huntress works inside the house to collect data, analyze that data and remediate IT security breaches.
