According to vmware.com, business continuity is “a business’s level of readiness to maintain critical functions after an emergency or disruption.” Some emergencies might be:
- Internet outage

- Equipment failures
As a business, it is important to ask questions and evaluate emergency preparedness. Some example questions might be:
- If the internet goes down, can I make sales / see patients / communicate with customers?
- In the event of a security breach, can I recover my customer / patient / sales data?
- In the event of an ice storm, can my business operate?
- What happens if our server / main workstation crashes?
